MISSION AND PURPOSE
Mission Statement
We, the Chester Republican Town Committee seek to advance candidacies and policies which promote fiscal responsibility, limit the expansion of government and champion the triumphs of personal success. We shall work vigorously to ensure that local government is accountable, accessible and responsive to all the people of Chester. We also seek to perserve and enhance the unique character, heritage and quality of life we all cherish and know as the community of Chester.
Purpose
The purpose of the Chester Republican Town Committee is to promote ideals and objectives that support our mission. To implement this purpose the Town Committee shall assume and discharge responsibility for:
Seeking out and recommending to the Board of Selectmen qualified candidates for appointment to public offices of the Town of Chester.
Seeking out and recommending qualified candidates for endorsement and election to local, state and national public offices, and as delegates to conventions.
Raising funds for the use and benefit of the Republican Party.
Increasing enrollment in the Republican Party and encouraging electors to vote for endorsed candidates for election.
Establishing policy and platforms for the Chester Republican Party.
Directing and maintaining a public relations program for the Chester Republican Party.
Maintaining liaison between Chester electors and public officials of the Town of Chester, acting as liaison with Republican Party organizations in other towns and at state and national levels.
Studying and recommending improvements in the conduct of local government. Studying and, if appropriate making recommendations concerning state and local legislation affecting Chester.
